AIDA ENGINEERING HISTORY
  • 1917: AIDA Ironworks is founded in Honjo, Tokyo, by the late Mr. Yokei Aida.

  • 1959: New factory constructed in Sagamihara City in Kanagawa Prefecture (current headquarters).

  • 1964: Headquarters and Kameido factory are moved and integrated into the Sagamihara facility.
  • 1970: Company name is changed to AIDA ENGINEERING, LTD.
  • 1974: Tsukui Factory is constructed in Sagamihara City.
  • 2007: A new plant is constructed on land adjacent to the headquarters.

The Tsukui plant was constructed in 1974. AIDA utilizes this factory for gap, unitized frame, and high speed press manufacturing, research and development, as well as for the sale of used presses and machinery.

Factory Automation Production Plant in Shimokuzawa, JAPAN
Factory Automation Production Plant (Shimokuzawa)

The Shimokuzawa plant serves as the mother plant of factory automation production, where AIDA develops, builds, and tests advanced transfer automation as well as industrial connectivity (IIOT) systems. The Shimokuzawa plant is located in close proximity to the main Sagamihara plant.

Established in 1992, the automation plant focuses on manufacturing automation and control systems for metal forming systems. Feed lines, transfer systems and automation robots for AIDA presses are built in this 24.000 m2 facility located in Hakusan, Japan.

Since the grand opening in 1997, AIDA-America has remained the most technologically advanced facility for metal stamping press manufacturing in North America. With 155.000 m2 facility, AIDA-America remains the only US manufacturer with the experience and capability to design, build, and deliver servo and mechanical presses ranging from 200 through 4000 t capacity.
